About Us

AMM Solutions, Inc. is an alternative-energy focused, light-manufacturing and consulting firm based in Boulder, Colorado. The Company was founded originally in 2003 by Alan McCluney, who brought with him many years' experience in engineering and information technology projects in a Fortune 500 company. AMM Solutions, Inc. has overseen contracts in the United States and abroad, and provides product design, scientific expertise, project management, and consulting services. AMM Solutions, Inc. draws on the strength of its team, which has experience in energy efficiency, solar energy, building envelope and materials efficiency, and related scientific equipment design and implementation. We also offer a growing portfolio of building materials testing products and services, and have international experience with turnkey test systems.

Who We Are

Alan M. McCluney
Founder/Chief Executive Officer

Founder and Chief Executive Officer Alan McCluney has taken the company from a small IT consulting service in 2003 to its current status as an internationally expansive light-manufacturing corporation. Mr. McCluney has significant experience in the creation and development of complex systems, business, and information technology, having worked in systems engineering and technical project management roles for more than 10 years. He has designed, built, and implemented numerous technically challenging and innovative solutions for both large and small companies. He has managed teams for engineering contracts, supply chains, and setup operational systems for new products.

Mr. McCluney has extensive experience with the design and manufacture of solar tracking devices. In 2008, Mr. McCluney joined Sunflower Corporation as an Operations Manager and helped to build and improve the first prototype of their signature solar tracking daylighting product. Previously, he had personally designed and built solar tracking devices for residential applications. Mr. McCluney has also worked as a consultant in energy efficiency, and created a financial incentive program for the City of Boulder, Colorado RECO proposal.

Mr. McCluney received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Management and Information Systems from the University of Central Florida, and a Master's of Science degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is also the graduate of a Fortune 500 company Leadership Development Program. Mr. McCluney has founded and maintains two companies: AMM Solutions, Inc. and WebPerative, LLC.

Dr. Ross McCluney
Vice President of Research and Development

Dr. McCluney is a co-founder of and serves on the Board of Directors of Sunflower Corporation (www.sunflowerdaylighting.com), a manufacturer of a tracking daylighting system for non-residential buildings. He is a co-inventor of Sunflower's signature product, the SundolierĀ®, and has provided intermittent technical consulting services for that company since its founding. He also serves as the Vice President of Research and Development for AMM Solutions, Inc., currently an unpaid advisory position. He also provides intermittent technical consulting services for AMM Solutions. He continues volunteer work on energy and environmental policy issues.

Dr. Rachel Sours-Page
Director of Technical Services

Dr. Rachel Sours-Page has worked as an Energy Efficiency Consultant to major United States electricity and natural gas utilities for nearly 10 years. She has worked on the design, development, and implementation of demand-side management programs, as well as their compliance and adherence to local, state, and federal laws. Dr. Sours-Page has participated at the negotiating table for new energy efficiency legislation, as well as in the design of customer rate structures and utility incentives that encourage the market to overcome barriers to implementation. Through this work, Dr. Sours-Page has developed a deep knowledge of the wide range of energy efficiency products in the marketplace. Prior to working with utilities, Dr. Sours-Page spent a year servingi as a Congressional Science Fellow, working for a United States Congressman on energy and environmental policy initiatives.

Dr. Sours-Page has a Bachelor's of Science degree from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, both focused in geology. For her doctorate thesis, Dr. Sours-Page studied the earth's processes that contribute to the formation of basaltic magmas in the mantle below mid-ocean ridges, hot spots, and large igneous provinces (such as the Deccan Traps).

In 2009, Dr. Sours-Page joined AMM Solutions, Inc. as the Director of Technical Services. In her role with the company, she assists in the design, assembly, and implementation of scientific equipment used to test the energy efficiency of new products.

In addition to our primary staff, AMM Solutions, Inc. is supported by a talented team of scientists and engineers with backgrounds in aerospace, academia, and business, and in fields ranging from mechanical and electrical engineering to ecology, architecture, and IT.
